Plasma
|
| |
Study of plasma processes dedicated to energy and environmental applications and new materials synthesis : development of new efficient and environmental friendly processes using thermal and non thermal plasma. Applications : production of carbon nanostructures at high temperature by thermal plasma ranging from carbon black over fullerenes to nanotubes ; plasma assisted hydrocarbons reforming for on board production of hydrogen. Experimental tools : AC/DC power supplies ranging from 1 to 250 kW, pilot reactors, plasma gas feeding system (Ar, N2, He), powder injection system (up to 1 kg / h), gas analysis test bench, high temperature plasma diagnostics (pyrometry, emission spectroscopy,…), hydrocarbon reforming test bench.

EM&P
|
| |
Since 1990, most of the activities have been focused on the elaboration and the study of nanostructured materials synthesized via sol-gel routes. A large part of the activities is now devoted to “aerogel-like” materials for energetic applications. Both inorganic and organic systems are investigated.
